Charlie Rose's interview with Syrian President Bashar Assad will air on The Charlie Rose Show on PBS Monday night, the same night as President Obama's televised interviews about proposed military intervention in Syria will be broadcast.

In the rare sit-down — Assad's first with an American network in nearly two years, according to CBS News — the leader tells Rose that there is no evidence to support the claim that he's used chemical weapons against his own people.

"He denied that he had anything to do with the attack," Rose told Bob Scheiffer onCBS This Morning Sunday. "He said, 'I can't confirm or deny that we have chemical weapons.'"

President Obama has asked for Congressional approval for a military strike against Syria. In addition to his TV interviews Monday, Obama will discuss the situation in a televised speech Tuesday night.
