Céline Dion is standing by her man, and stepping away from her music career indefinitely.

The singer revealed to People on Wednesday that she has postponed her Las Vegas residency, canceled the Asia tour scheduled for later this year and put all career-related engagements on hold because of her husband's battle with cancer.

Dion's husband and former manager, René Angélil, had a tumor removed from his throat last December and his health struggle has been "a very difficult and stressful" experience, the singer told the magazine.
"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion continued. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."

While dealing with her husband's illness, Dion, 46, has also suffered some health issues of her own. She has not performed her show at Caesars Palace since July 29 because of inflammation in her throat muscles. Dion has had a residency there since 2003 and is under contract through 2019.

Dion and Angélil, 72, have three children together: 13-year-old René-Charles and 3-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.
