Get details on the new project from Sleepy Hollow's co-creator
CBS is developing an adaptation of H.G. Wells' novel The Island of Dr. Moreau with Sleepy Hollow co-creator Phillip Iscove, Deadline reports.
Titled Moreau, the drama would follow Dr. Katherine Moreau, a physiologist who goes to a privately funded island hospital to experiment with creating animal-human hybrids. This would put a slightly new twist on Wells' original novel, which followed a shipwrecked man who winds up on Dr. Moreau's island.
The Island of Doctor Moreauhas inspired many previous adaptations, including Bela Lugosi's The Island of Lost Souls, the 1977 Burt Lancaster film and a 1996 movie starring Marlon Brando.
