The Good Wife fans were promised a "very satisfying" reunion between Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) in the Season 6 finale. But the big scene, in which the duo were seemingly green-screened together, was anything but.

When asked about the infamous reunion at the Television Critics Association's fall previews, CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler refused to "reveal any movie magic" that went into the much-hyped scene that had been two years in the making.

"The bottom line is the ending of the show was a very satisfying ending for the relationship between those two characters," Tassler said. "I stand behind ... how [creators] Robert and Michelle King produced their show."

Though The Good Wife's sixth season overall was accused of suffering from a severe drop in quality, Tassler defended the drama, saying the upcoming season may be the best yet. "I feel like the show still has raised the bar in terms of quality storytelling," Tassler said. "And the year that Robert and Michelle have planned is as exciting as all the previous years, even more so."

The Good Wife returns Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9/8c on CBS.
