Get a First Look at CBS' Supergirl Costume

CBS has revealed a first glimpse of Melissa Benoist as Supergirl.

Wearing a red cape with matching thigh-high boots and a pleated skirt, the Glee alum stands, hands on hips, doing her best to look like a powerful, intimidating hero. Unfortunately, she winds up looking more like a model advertising a moderately-priced Halloween costume - a costume somehow designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood.

"In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today," said Atwood, who also designed the great costumes for The Flash and Arrow.
