"The NFL continues to be the best premium content in the business, and we look forward to another year of our expanded partnership in 2015/16, a season that will culminate with Super Bowl 50 on CBS," network president Les Moonves said in a statement.

This fall, CBS reshuffled its primetime lineup in order to accommodate Thursday Night Football, moving The Big Bang Theory to Monday nights and delaying the premieres of other shows including Elementary and Mom.

The NFL also has the option to extend its contract with CBS an additional year.
