Calista Flockhart Is Coming Back to Supergirl Next Season, but There's a Catch

Cat Grant is coming back to Supergirl!

Calista Flockhart will be back in National City for Season 2 of the CW superhero drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There's a catch though: Flockhart will be a recurring presence next season, instead of a series regular. Her multiple-episode arc will begin with the Oct. 10 premiere. The change was a consequence of the show's move from Los Angeles to Vancouver -- a cost-cutting decision related to its move from CBS to The CW.

"Supergirl wouldn't be Supergirl without the amazing Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "We are so excited Calista has agreed to continue on the show when she can. We and the audience love to see her on screen."

Season 2 of Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.
