One Emmy winner is out, another is in. CBS's The Young and the Restlesshas been forced to recast the role of grieving mom Kelly Andrews, currently played by Cynthia Watros, who has moved on to the upcoming MTV series Finding Carter. The new Kelly is former All My Children and As the World Turns great Cady McClain.

A rep for the top-rated soap tells TV Guide Magazine that Watros will shoot her final scenes March 14 and will last air April 16. McClain shows up for work March 26 and will first be seen April 24.

The switch isn't unexpected. Watros, known for her gigs on Guiding Light and Lost, went to Y&R without a contract well aware she might need to drop out if the Finding Carter pilot got a series order. (Carter films in Atlanta, Y&R in Los Angeles.) Yesterday she tweeted: "I LOVED being on Y and R. A big hug to the cast and crew! You guys rock! My fans and my not fans. I love you. I hope I didn't let you down."

Word is, a Kelly recast was mandatory because Y&R plans to romantically team the character with Peter Bergman's kingpin character, Jack Abbott.
