Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Gang Goes Into Heist Mode to Save Kevin's Life

He's in... OK hands

Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns for the second half of its fifth (and final?) season on Sunday, Mar. 18, but you don't have to wait until then to get a look at the first episode back because yours truly has you hooked up.

In this exclusive clip, the Nine-Nine crew goes through a well-choreographed extraction procedure to save Kevin (Marc Evan Jackson, The Good Place's Satan-like thing) from getting snatched by bad guy Seamus (Paul Adelstein), and the whole ordeal looks like something out of Ocean's 11 but with goofier wigs and more talk of the Trojan Horse's butt.

With Kevin securely in the hands of Holt (Andre Braugher), the rest of the episode will see Kevin stashed in a safe house with Jake (Andy Samberg) guarding him. I hope Kevin knows his Die Hard trivia or it could be a rough time being "protected" by New York's somewhat finest.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine heads into the rest of its fifth season with its future uncertain. This season's ratings haven't helped its case, so let's all get on the horn and tell our pals to watch because this one's a 50/50 bubble show. We'll find out what Fox decides later this spring.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns Mar. 18 at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.
