"All Bad things must come to an end."

That's the tagline for the second half of Breaking Bad's fifth and final season, which premieres August 11 on AMC. A new poster for the final eight episodes that was unveiled this week features the foreboding message backed by wafting green smoke.

Summer Preview: TV stars go to the movies

Creator Vince Gilligan recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he wept after writing the final episode of the show.

"I haven't told my crew this," Gilligan admitted. "I actually cried writing the end — 'The end' on the last episode."

The question on everyone's mind will be whether Walter White (Bryan Cranston) can get away with building a drug empire now that his brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris) has discovered his identity as kingpin Heisenberg — or whether his scheme will go up in smoke. If the poster's any indication, it might be the latter.

Added Gilligan: "Essentially we said, 'What are all the possible endings we can come up with?'" he said. "And then, 'What is the ending that satisfies us the most?'"
