Veteran actor Charlton Heston said Friday that he's suffering from a neurological illness whose symptoms are consistent with Alzheimer's disease. The 77-year-old explained he's announcing this now "because when the time comes, I might not be able to." He's "neither giving up nor giving in," though, and plans to serve out his term as National Rifle Association president until it ends in April. He's also in preliminary talks to do a film.
