It's not even December yet but it already feels like Christmas because we have our first look at Brandon Routh reprising his role as Superman (Routh portrayed the comic book hero in the 2006 film Superman Returns) in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. The CW dropped a sneak peek photo on Friday featuring the DC's Legends of Tomorrowstar suited up as the Man of Steel and it's so glorious, you'll forget all about Henry Cavill's mustache fiasco in Justice League. (It's OK, it can't hurt you anymore.)

The photo confirms that Routh will portray Superman from the comic Kingdom Come, in which the battle-weary caped hero reforms the Justice League following the death of Lois Lane. Routh previously hinted that he would portray this version of the iconic character during this year's San Diego Comic-Con when he dropped in on Arrow's farewell panel and ripped open his shirt to reveal Kingdom Come's Superman emblem.

Everything We Know About the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover

In addition to Routh, the five-part event will feature two other Supermans (Supermen?): Smallville's Tom Welling, who will reprise his role as Clark Kent in an on-screen reunion with co-star Erica Durance; and Tyler Hoechlin, who currently portrays the Man of Steel on Supergirl.

The five-way crossover kicks off this fall with Supergirl on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8/7c, and continuing on Batwoman on Monday, Dec. 9 and The Flash on Tuesday, Dec. 10. After winter break, the crossover will pick up again on Tuesday, Jan. 14 with a new episode of Arrow at 8/7c before concluding with DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9/8c.
