Lone Survivor soared to the top of the box office over the weekend, raking in $38.5 million in its first week in wide release, Box Office Mojo reports.

Disney's juggernaut Frozen also continued to do well in its eighth week, landing in second place with $15 million. The Wolf of Wall Street jumped up a spot to No. 3 with $9 million, whileThe Legend of Hercules opened at No. 4 with $8.6 million, tying American Hustle.

Golden Globes: Who will take home the night's big awards?

In sixth place was The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug with $8 million. August: Osage County moved into the Top 10 after opening wide, coming in at No. 7 with $7.3 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Saving Mr. Banks ($6.6 million), Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (6.3 million), and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (No. 10, $6.1 million).
