Never underestimate the power of Katniss Everdeen. The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire certainly lived up to its name this weekend, shattering a November record at the box office with an estimated $161.1 million in earnings. Not only is that about $10 million more than the original Hunger Games made in its opening weekend in 2012, but would also make Catching Fire the fourth-highest opening weekend ever, and the top grossing debut for a 2D-only movie, Box Office Mojo reports.
