Box Office: American Sniper Holds Strong

But which new releases flopped?

American Sniper took in an additional $31.8 million this weekend, making it the No. 1 movie at the box office again and bringing its total gross to nearly $250 million, Box Office Mojo reports.

Paddington jumped a spot to No. 2 with $8.51 million, narrowly topping new release Project Almanac, which flopped with just $8.5 million.

A tepid opening also came courtesy of Black or White, which earned just $6.4 million. And The Boy Next Door fell three spots to fifth place with $6 million.

In sixth place was The Wedding Ringer with $5.7 million, followed by The Imitation Game with $5.1 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Taken 3 (No. 8, $3.6 million), Strange Magic(No. 9, $3.4 million) and The Loft, which opened with $2.8 million.
