Box Office: American Sniper Holds Strong, Mortdecai Bombs

American Sniper held steady at the box office this weekend, landing at No. 1 for the second week in a row with a whopping $64 million. In addition to being the most widely-released R-rated movie ever, the film is also on track to be the highest-grossing movie of 2014, Box Office Mojo reports.

SAG Awards: Who took home the top prizes?

Jennifer Lopez's The Boy Next Door had a solid opening, finishing in second place with $15 million. Paddington stayed at No. 3 with $12.3 million, while The Wedding Ringer dropped two spots to No. 4 with $11.6 million.

At No. 5 was Taken 3 with $7.6 million, followed by Oscar nominee The Imitation Game, which took in $7.1 million in its ninth week in theaters.

George Lucas' Strange Magic earned a disappointing $5.53 million in its debut, finishing in seventh place. It narrowly beat Selma, which collected $5.5 million.

Johnny Depp's Mortdecaibombed, landing at No. 9 with $4.1 million. That's only slightly more than his other film, Into the Woods, earned in its fifth week in theaters, closing out the Top 10 with $3.8 million.
