Jason Bourne is back... sort of.

USA Network has picked up the pilot for a prequel to the Matt Damon-fronted action series, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Treadstone will explore the origins of the CIA black ops program known which uses behavior modification technology to turn its agents into superhuman killers. The potential new series follows agents from around the world who are mysteriously awakened to follow through with their dark missions.

It's unclear whether or not Jason Bourne, the most famous graduate of this program, will be in the series but we're holding out hope for a Matt Damon cameo. The series will be written and executive produced by Heroes' Tim Kring. Ramin Bahrani has signed on to direct and executive produce.

USA also picked up the pilots for three other series including Dennis Leary's Erase, about a dirty ex-cop who has a change of heart and decides to bring down his corrupt peers, and Dare Me, which centers around volatile female friendships in a small Midwestern town.

Meanwhile, Briarpatch follows a detective who returns to her hometown to investigate the murder of her sister. She soon finds herself fighting to bring down the corrupt town she thought she had left behind long ago. The series was written by Andy Greenwald, who will also executive produce. Mr. Robotcreator Sam Esmail has also signed on to executive produce.
