Freeform has Canceled Beyond

Holden will not be back for a Season 3

It looks like it's time for Beyond to enter the great beyond.

Freeform's sophomore sci-fi/fantasy series which the network lauded for its massive binge-watching numbers in its first season apparently could keep up the steam in Season 2. TV Guide has confirmed that Beyond has officially been canceled only a week after it aired its second season finale.

Beyond told the story of Holden Matthews (Burkely Duffield), a young man who wakes up with strange powers after spending 12 years in a coma. It also starred Dilan Gwyn, Jordan Calloway, Michael McGrady, Romy Rosemont, Jonathan Whitesell and Jeff Pierre.

This news comes on the heels of The Fosters and Young and Hungry's final season announcements earlier this year and last fall's cancellation of Stitchers. All of this turnover is less alarming, however, when you factor in that the network is expanding its programming to four nights a week and the slew of new series are scheduled to hit the network in 2018.
