Beyonce to Play Etta James in Cadillac
Beyoncé Knowles has signed on to play Etta James in Cadillac Records, a 1950s period drama about the founding of Chess Records, also starring Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Cedric the Entertainer. Anyone who has gotten married and/or ever attended a wedding knows that James is the singer who, among other accomplishments, popularized the tender song "At Last," which nine out of 10 couples choose for their first dance. No word on whether Knowles, who famously dropped 20 pounds to appear younger in Dreamgirls, will go on the Renée Zellweger milkshake diet to play the full-figured James. — Mickey O'Connor
