Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange Knowles are speaking out about the elevator fight that leaked online earlier this week and has dominated the celebrity news cycle ever since.

In a statement obtained by The Associated Press, the three music artists acknowledge the "great deal of speculation" surrounding the cause of the "unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred," the statement reads. "They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

The biggest celebrity feuds

On Monday, TMZ posted an audio-less videotape of a heated physical argument that occurred between Solange, Beyonce's younger sister, and her husband, Jay Z, in the elevator of the Standard Hotel in New York following the Met Gala on Monday, May 5. In the video, Solange is seen hitting and kicking Jay Z as Beyonce watches and a security guard intervenes. "The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day, families have problems, and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

On Wednesday, news broke that the hotel had fired the individual responsible for the leak.

Beyonce and Jay Z have been married since 2008 and are getting ready to go out on tour together for the first time this summer. Watch Beyonce and Jay Z's video for their latest collaboration, "Drunk in Love," here.
