BAYWATCH LOST AT SEA

After 11 seasons, the once-lucrative Baywatch franchise has been drowned. Syndicator Pearson Television — citing declining ratings and a competitive marketplace — has announced that it will end production on the series' most recent incarnation, Baywatch Hawaii, Variety reports. The weekly guilty pleasure — starring David Hasselhoff and a team of buff lifeguards — debuted more than a decade ago on NBC before heading into syndication. It eventually aired in more than 100 countries. New episodes of Baywatch Hawaii will air through May.
