Who Was Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating Person of the Year?

Amal Clooney, the woman who finally got longtime bachelor George Clooney to walk down the aisle, has been named Barbara Walters' most fascinating person of the year. "She is known primarily through her spouse and while we know little about her, we know a great deal about him and he has fascinated many women. Especially me," Walters said on Sunday night's special.

George Clooney's (many) ladies: A timeline

In a 1995 interview with Walters, Clooney famously said, "I won't marry again ... I know I'm never going to get married again because I wasn't very good at it." That all changed when he met the successful Oxford graduate and lawyer who became a well-known human rights attorney with clients including Julian Assange and Kofi Annan.

Clooney, 53, wed Amal, 36, in September, just more than a year after they were first romantically linked. This is the first marriage for the successful lawyer, and the second for Clooney, who was married to Mad Men actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.

Amal topped Walters' 2014 list, which also included Oprah Winfrey, Neil Patrick Harris, Chelsea Handler and Scarlett Johansson.
