Here Are the Winners For This Year's BAFTA Awards

It's music's biggest night with the 61st Annual Grammy Awards set to air Sunday evening on CBS (details here on how to watch) -- but the afternoon belonged to England. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts handed out its BAFTA Awards on Sunday, honoring Alfonso Cuarón's Romaas the best film of the year and the stars of The Favouritewinning actress awards.

In addition to best film, Cuarón's Netflix release took home BAFTA awards for foreign language film, best director and best cinematography. The Favourite, which led all BAFTA films with 12 nominations heading into the day, took home acting awards for Olivia Colman (best actress) and costar Rachel Weisz (best supporting actress). The Favourite also took home honors for best original screenplay, best costumes, best production design, best hair and makeup and best British film.

As with the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Critics Choice Awards, the BAFTAs are considered a precursor to the Academy Awards. Voting for this year's Oscars begins on Tuesday, Feb. 12, and extends for a full week, through Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Viewed in that light, the ceremony was good news for both Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek and Green Book co-lead Mahershala Ali. Both men won acting awards in the lead and supporting male categories, respectively, and are the heavy favorite to see similar results at the Oscars later this month.

Roma and The Favourite led all films at the 91st Annual Academy Awards with 10 nominations apiece, including best picture.
