[WARNING: The following story reveals the winner of ABC's The Bachelor. Read at your own risk].

The finale of The Bachelor was just like the entire season: messy, unpredictable and all about Juan Pablo.

The episode began with each of the girls meeting Juan Pablo's family in St. Lucia. Clare is up first and has an interesting conversation with his mom. When Clare asks her if there's anything she should know, Juan Pablo's mom eventually says, "He is sometimes very rude." Clare then brings up their disagreement from Vietnam and somehow finds comfort in his mom's reaction to it.

Nikki is next. Having already spent some brief time with Juan Pablo's parents, daughter Camila, and Camila's mom, this time she sits down with his cousin Rodolfo. It's then that Nikki also hears what are potential red flags straight from Rodolfo. "Juan Pablo ... sometimes when things are getting rough, he walks away [from] the relationship," he tells her. "So how can you deal with that?" "I think a relationship with no fighting, [has] no passion ... so I feel like we would fight well," she says.

The Bachelor: Where are they now?

Both girls have their final one-on-one dates. For Clare, it's a romantic helicopter ride. But when they step off the plane, Clare says Juan Pablo made some hurtful, sexual, insulting remarks (that the cameras weren't able to capture.) Clare explains he said something along the lines of, "I don't know you that well, but I love hooking up with you." Later in her hotel room, she tries to get Juan Pablo to clarify and as per usual his party line is, "It's OK." But Clare finally gets him to say what she wants to hear, that it's more than just the physical with her. "Tonight I know that he wants me here," she says.

Nikki's final date with Juan Pablo begins with a catamaran ride. But, again, he brings up some insecurities Nikki has about their relationship. Later that night, Nikki is still concerned that she's going to lose Juan Pablo. After giving him a photo and a letter expressing her feelings for him, Juan Pablo says goodbye for the final time before she finds out if she's the one.

The moment of truth finally comes. Clare steps off the boat first, but it's not the outcome she's hoping for. "You are an unbelievable, amazing woman," he tells her. "I wish the Earth sucked me today because this is the hardest decision ever. I appreciate you being here and trusting me all along...I got to find who I think is best for me and I have to say goodbye to you."

Is Juan Pablo the worst Bachelor ever? And does it even matter?

But Clare doesn't let it end like that, and instead gives him a piece of her mind.

"This entire time I've stuck around because I believed in you and the other night on our last date...I needed that reassurance and I gave you the opportunity right then because I was scared to death," she says. "And for you to sit there and tell me that you could see yourself in Sacramento...I  saved this moment for the man of my dreams and I thought that was you and I thought I knew what kind of man you were. I lost respect for you. What you just made me go through I would never want my children having a father like you."

"I'm glad I didn't pick her," Juan Pablo mumbles after Clare walks away.

Shortly thereafter, Nikki arrives. "Just know I love so many things about you," Juan Pablo tells her. "I always have a good time with you, especially at your hometown. I listened to your dad and what he said to me. 'Juan Pablo, if you're going to propose to my daughter you have to be 100 percent sure.'...And that made me think a lot. I have a ring here in my pocket and I'm not going to use it. I'm not 100 percent sure I want to propose to you, but at the same time I'm 100 percent sure I don't want to let you go."

For the first time since Brad Womack rejected both ladies in the Season 11 finale, there is no proposal. How does Nikki react? "Absolutely," she says when he asks her if she'll accept his final rose.

Did TVGuide.com users agree with Juan Pablo's pick? Not quite. 56 percent of you thought Juan Pablo should choose neither woman! Nikki came in second with 27 percent and Clare last with 17 percent.
