The Bachelor's Chris Harrison: No One Cares that Ashley Is a Virgin (Except Ashley)

The waterworks keep on coming from The Bachelor's Ashley I.

On this week's episode, the overly emotional virgin tried to tell Bachelor Chris about her lack of experience, and when he didn't make a move on her following her confession, she did what she's been known to do all season long: cry. A lot. But Ashley wasn't the only one having trouble handling her emotions. After beginning the season with the first-impression rose, Britt too became concerned about her time with Chris, essentially calling him out for giving Kaitlyn another date rose. Frustrated, Chris told the women that if anyone questioned his intentions, they could walk out the door.

So has Chris reached his breaking point this early in the season? Will Britt's jealousy and Ashley I.'s non-stop stream of tears send the two girls home? Host Chris Harrison weighs in below!

Chris Harrison: It's easily the most socially relevant show on TV. Everyone talks about it, and not only does it cross generational lines, it crosses network lines. I remember when Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban stopped me and said, "We keep waiting for you to give us the key to the fantasy suite" or something like that and it cracks me up. People are now OK talking about watching it.

So Kelsey was not a fan of this week's group date. Is she a brat or just not into this?
Harrison: She may be a brat. She didn't love the camping, she didn't love being around other women -- maybe this just isn't for her. A lot of people come on the show and find out it's not for them and Kelsey, I think, is a bit spoiled and used to getting her way. For people like that, this is not a good environment. She's definitely one of those girls who's one way around the girls and another around Chris.

Kaitlyn got the group date. She and Chris seem to have the most natural chemistry so far. Harrison: They are the easiest couple to watch, and she makes him feel laid-back and relaxed. And in this environment -- well, in everyenvironment -- that's what a guy wants. When they're together, there's no drama and he doesn't have to think about any problems. That's a rare thing for being in this situation. She's kind of the anti-Kelsey.

Ashley I. continues to baffle me. What is her deal?
Harrison: Ashley is obsessed with Ashley. Nobody else really cares, and I hate to break this to her, [but] the fact that she's a virgin isn't a huge thing. There are other virgins in the world. Her reasoning would probably be interesting to find out... but she's really caught up in the fact that she's a virgin. It's amazingly ironic that in the same sentence she says she doesn't care about it and it's not a big deal. It begs the question: Why are you [acting like] this? It's like something she can't wait to get rid of, so she holds it over people's heads. It just shows she's young and immature. She doesn't know how to handle her sexuality yet and she's not comfortable in her own skin. Over time on the show, you're exposed as who you are, and Ashley is being exposed as young and naïve. The juxtaposition you have between her breaking down over the whole thing and then having Becca go, "Oh by the way, me too," shows the difference between a woman and a young girl.

And then she cried because he didn't make a move on her after she told him about it. Harrison: The fact that she would tell him she's a virgin and then freak out that he didn't try to jump her bones is beyond anybody's realm of comprehension. So, it's another huge red flag about how young she is and doesn't know what she wants in life.

Jade got the one-on-one and seemed to hit it off with Chris.
Harrison: I really liked the way we did the whole Cinderella thing, [with Chris] not knowing who was coming at all. She's one we hadn't really seen yet. Britt took such an early lead, and then Kaitlyn came around. So, now you'll see Jade and some others get attention which, by the way, Britt doesn't like at all.

Speaking of Britt, she totally confronted Chris for basically being The Bachelor.
Harrison: She basically called him out for dating other women. He likes Britt a lot, but she's making it difficult to like her. She is not happy with the surroundings and she really set him off because she kind of questioned his morals and sincerity. He was really taken aback by it.

TV shows you should be watching

On the other group date, Chris and Jillian had the most awkward dinner. Were you surprised he sent her home?
Harrison: It was a little bit like what's happening with Ashley. He got a good glimpse of who she is, and she's young. She was saying, "Who knows what I'm going to do in three or five years?" but he's answered these questions and knows what he wants. Jillian is just not there. None of this with her or Ashley is bad, it's just stuff you should find out when you're dating, and he's quickly realizing some of these women aren't close to being ready for this.

Ashley S. finally went home, but I appreciated Chris he walked Juelia out separately. Harrison: Letting Juelia go was easily the toughest one, and he was really sensitive to the fact that he was saying goodbye to her. He walked her out, which you really don't need to do this early on, but that's the kind of guy he is. As soon as he realized she's not the one, he wanted to send her home.

From the previews, it seems next week Kelsey has a major breakdown. What can you tease? Harrison: Next week we hit the road, and you're seeing now the emergence of several women, good and bad. Kelsey will definitely be divisive and a controversial figure going forward. She has an incredibly tough story as a widow. So, it's hard to attack someone like that, and Chris is protective of her because of that. But she uses it to her favor. It's a pivotal point where Chris knows everyone and is really starting to have his favorites. Some of them are rising quickly and others are fading.
