Australian Theater Named for Heath Ledger

A theater in late actor Heath Ledger's Australian hometown of Perth has been named in his honor.The Western Australia state premier told attendees at the 575-seat theater's naming ceremony that Ledger is being honored for his commitment to acting and his support of young actors.Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose in January at the age of 28.His father told the AP he was proud of the way his son's legacy was honored. "He was such a giver to the arts right across the board," he said. "I really feel that there's not a lot of things he'd put his name to, but he'd put his name to that." — J.R. Whalen
