ABC's period drama Astronaut Wives Club is getting bumped to midseason, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
As first reported by Deadline, the show was scheduled to premiere in July, but ABC is delaying it until midway through the 2014-2015 season.
Astronaut Wives Club, which got a direct-to-series order from ABC in January, features a group of women whose husbands are astronauts in the 1960s. It's written by Gossip Girl's Stephanie Savage, who will executive-produce with Josh Schwartz.
Production has been halted so that the show can expand its concept and incorporate story lines from all three space missions — Mercury, Gemini and Apollo — that occurred during the space race of the 1960s. (The series was originally only going to focus on the Mercury missions.)
