Maybe "The truth is out there" should be the tag line for The Good Wife, and not The X-Files.

Julianna Margulies has finally addressed the rumor that a feud between her and her Good Wife co-star Archie Panjabi was behind the lack of shared screen time for their characters, as well as their infamously split-screened scene in Panjabi's final episode last season.

Her response, essentially: Nothing to see here! "It's totally gossip," Margulies, who is also an executive producer on The Good Wife, said at the New Yorker Festival Sunday, according to Vulture. "There's no story there. ... I feel people just like to have gossip or make something into something that isn't there."

Good Wife showrunners address Alicia and Kalinda's unsatisfying final scene

Margulies went on to explain the split-screen technique used for Alicia and Kalinda's reunion as the result of scheduling conflicts. "[Panjabi] was also doing another show, called The Fall. I went along with whatever [co-creator Robert King] asked me to do and I did it happily," Margulies said, as reported by Vulture.

Well, that makes sense - except for the fact that Panjabi immediately called shenanigans on Margulies' claim, tweeting that The Fall wasn't even in production at the time their Good Wife scene was filmed, and what's more, she was in New York for The Good Wife.

Whoops.

Who do you think is telling the truth?
