The late chef's show won every category in which it was nominated
Anthony Bourdain, the travel show host who took his own life in June, was honored with six posthumous Emmys for his CNN show Parts Unknown at Sunday's Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown won every category in which it was nominated, including Best Informational Series or Special, Writing for Non-Fiction Program, Picture Editing for a Non-Fiction Program, Sound Editing for a Non-Fiction Program, Sound Mixing for a Non-Fiction Program and Best Short-Form Non-Fiction or Reality Series for its digital spin-off Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown.
The series and writing awards were personally credited to Bourdain, along with his fellow producers and writers.
According to Variety, executive producer Lydia Tenaglia accepted the writing award on Bourdain's behalf and said, "Tony was nominated for this Emmy many times, but it had always eluded him. So it is with tremendous bittersweetness that I accept it on his behalf." Parts Unknown had been nominated for writing four times previously. It won Outstanding Informational Series or Special five consecutive times, including this year.
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown will return for its final season September 23 at 9/8c on CNN.
