Amy Schumer is like the Trojan Horse of feminist comedy, seamlessly using her skills at pop culture parody to prompt mainstream discussions of larger, and often touchy, social issues. Last week, she did it with Friday Night Lights and rape culture, and on Tuesday's Inside Amy Schumer the comedian used a spoof of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" to give a huge middle finger to female beauty standards.

Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Patricia Arquette and Amy Schumer blast misogyny in Hollywood

The sketch features a boy band serenading Schumer about how she's perfect without makeup, only for the boys to be horrified when she actually reveals her natural face. Because we all know when men say they like the "natural look," what they mean is they want you to naturally look like you're wearing makeup.

After the sketch aired, women (and men) took to Twitter in solidarity of its message, posting makeup free selfies with the hashtag #girlyoudontneedmakeup.

Schumer retweeted many of the empowering photos, adding: "I have been brought to tears with all the strong, badass, incredible women tonight. In jungles, jumping out of planes, holding their babies and mothers hands. All the strong lovely men who tweeted too. We are all different and beautiful. Let's waste no time stressin bout looks. We are sisters and fighters and laughers and happy strong women. Smile at yourself in the mirror girl. #girlyoudontneedmakeup much love!"
