Is This the Most Uncomfortable American Idol Moment Ever?

Before Rayvon and Joey even had a chance to perform for the fan save, things got seriously dramatic on Wednesday's American Idol.

Quentin, who was the last contestant to have been voted through, performed Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way." But following the high-energy performance, Quentin sucked the good vibes right out of the room when he told Ryan Seacrest that "this sucks" following his critiques.

As Quentin explained, he wasn't upset that he didn't receive glowing reviews across the board, but because it was hard to see "two of the best vocalists," including his best friend Joey, potentially go home.

"This whole thing is whack, but I'm going to shut up right now," he continued.

As Quentin was heading backstage, Harry Connick Jr. stopped him to deliver a stern lecture. "Quentin, if it's that whack, then you can always go home because Idol is paying a lot of money to give you this experience," he said. "And for you to say that to this hand that is feeding you right now, I think, is highly disrespectful."

"When I said that this was whack, I wasn't saying this was whack," Quentin said, gesturing to the judges and show's set.

"What's whack? It's a competition," Connick Jr. shot back.

"I understand that. For my personal feelings, it sucks to see two people who I've grown to love go home. That's what I mean by it being whack. So I'm not disrespecting this competition," Quentin said before finally leaving the stage.

Following Quentin's second performance, "The Sound of Silence," Jennifer Lopez took the opportunity to address his earlier outburst.

"I feel like you're in a very sensitive mood this evening," Lopez said. "I understand this is a lot of pressure. That's part of being an artist. You have to get out in front of people; we have to control our emotions. I know inside you have a good heart. You displayed something earlier that kind of threw everybody. It was against you, what I know of you. I just wanted to say that you need all of that to be an artist -- you do -- but you also have to know how to control it and always put your heart out there first."

"I just wanted to say when I had that moment, it wasn't my intention to disrespect anyone or anything. It was just me having a genuine emotion and I couldn't help but let it out," Quentin explained.

Seacrest followed this up by saying what we were all thinking at the moment: "I honestly thought you were going to hit him."

"I was raised way better," Quentin said.

In the end, Quentin's BFF was sent home after losing the fan save by only a few percent. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall in that green room afterward.
