You won't have to wait too much longer to catch new episodes of American Horror Story. Season 8 of the FX anthology series will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10/9c.

The next installment of Ryan Murphy's terrifying saga will be the anticipated Murder House-Coven crossover. Murphy first mentioned the possibility of a crossover between the first and third season in 2016, but fans weren't expecting it until Season 9. The fact that we're getting it a year early is quite a welcome surprise, but we're still waiting for the official title. While we know the theme of Season 8, the title has yet to be announced (although there are rumors that it will be Radioactive).

It was previously revealed that Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd will all return for Season 8, which will also welcome AHS newcomer and living legend Joan Collins.

Character details remain scarce, but fans should expect to see many familiar faces from the past. And though Murder House and Coven took place in 2011 and 2013, respectively, Season 8 will be set in the near-future. A lot can change in a few years, so even the characters who will return will likely be in very different places from when we last saw them.
