Here's some good, heartfelt news for the day: Alex Trebek is back to work filming Season 36 of Jeopardy! The long-time host was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer earlier this year but in a newly released video explains that he's back to work and feeling good.

"I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy and thankfully, that is now over," said Trebek. "I'm on the mend and that's all I can hope for right now." He also goes on to joke that if anyone were to make a movie about his life he'd want Betty White to play him.

Trebek has been updating us on his progress throughout the spring and summer, after announcing his cancer back in March of this year. Earlier in May, he told People, "It's kind of mind-boggling. The doctors said they hadn't seen this kind of positive result in their memory," Trebek told the magazine. "Some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent."

In the video, Trebek also teases what we can expect from the brand new season of the game show, and while Jeopardy James might not be back, our new champion Jason is like an "energizer bunny." He also promises that this is going to be a good year, and you know what, we believe him.

Season 36 of Jeopardy! premieres Sep. 9.
