Alec Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York on Tuesday for using his cell phone.

"Flight attendant on American reamed me out for playing 'Words With Friends' while we sat at the gate, not moving," the 30 Rock  actor tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "But, oddly, 30 Rock plays in flight on American."

Once the cabin door was shut, Baldwin was asked to turn off his phone when he was playing the game, according to TMZ. After speaking with flight attendants, Baldwin got up to use the bathroom and loudly slammed the door. The flight's captain heard the loud noise and then had Baldwin removed from the plane.

A law enforcement official told The Los Angeles Times that Baldwin was escorted off of the plane, but that police were not involved. The official did not specify why Baldwin was removed from the flight, except to say it was between Baldwin and the airline. The official Twitter account of American Airlines told the Emmy winner, 53, that they are looking into the matter and asked him to send his contact information.

Another passenger on the flight, former MTV Networks President and Chief Operating Officer Michael J. Wolf, first tweeted that Baldwin had been removed the plane leaving from Los Angeles International Airport.

Luckily, Baldwin wasn't grounded for too long. The actor tweeted that he was re-booked on a 3 p.m. American Airlines flight. "The flight attendants already look.....smarter," he wrote.
