Events in the remainder of the super series are likely to lead into the spin-off's plot. Currently, Morse and Hunter are on some rather treacherous rocks after Morse deceived Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team in order to steal Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) toolbox for "the real S.H.I.E.L.D." led by Edward James Olmos as Agent Robert Gonzales.

The spin-off series is being developed by S.H.I.E.L.D. exec producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski.
