Former ABC Executive McPherson Denies Harassment Claims

Stephen McPherson said Thursday that he's going to fight back against reports that he was being investigated for claims of sexual harassment at the time of his exit.
Stan Rosenfield, his personal rep, said McPherson "is not going to sit back idly regarding the false and defamatory stories fueled by unknown and anonymous sources that are now appearing in the media since his resignation from ABC."
"He has retained Martin Singer and Lavely & Singer to deal with these defamatory stories," Rosenfield said.

Multiple harassment claims were filed involving the now ex-president of ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios coming from female executives at the company, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the internal investigation. ABC had been conducting a formal investigation into the accusations three weeks before McPherson's exit, THR reported.

ABC Family President Paul Lee is expected to succeed McPherson, according to Variety. ABC is scheduled to present its fall lineup to critics Sunday — a job that McPherson has overseen in the past.ABC refused to comment on the allegations, referring only to its earlier comment that McPherson offered his resignation Tuesday and the company accepted.
