Pregnancy hormones can make you crazy -- but crazy enough to run someone down with your car?
Lifetime has been relatively tight-lipped about its upcoming movie, A Deadly Adoption. We knew it starred Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig, who were playing a couple who took in a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) in hopes of adopting her baby. Beyond that, very little was revealed.
But on Thursday, the network released a 20-second teaser that gives a little insight as to why the adoption gets dangerous.
When it was announced in April, Lifetime indicated that it was a pseudo-parody of typical Lifetime movies, which generally feature high-stakes, ripped-from-the-headlines dramatics and low-level writing and acting skills -- though sometimes you get a prestige TV or movie actor picking up a paycheck in a lead role. (Remember Rob Lowe growling "I'm untouchable, bitch" in Drew Peterson: Untouchable? That was peak Lifetime movie right there.)
There has been some Lifetime-caliber drama surrounding A Deadly Adoption: The day after the network announced it, the movie leaked on the Internet, causing Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig to state they would forego the project entirely. But it had already wrapped filming, so Lifetime was well within its rights to air the movie anyways, which they will do later this month.
