Alicia Silverstone Leaves Fat Behind

Actress Alicia Silverstone says she's left her fat behind and has her new vegan lifestyle to thank for the change.

Silverstone, whose tight-fitting Batgirl outfit in 1997's Batman and Robin prompted some of the crueler tabloids to label her "Fatgirl," tells Shine that switching to a strict vegan diet two years ago really helped her win the battle of the bulge.

"I'll never have to worry about my weight ever again," says the 23-year-old actress. "I don't know how much I've lost because I don't count the pounds, but the point is I don't have to worry now because the food I'm putting in my body is really healthy and good for me.

"I've begun to sleep solidly through the night because my food digests more smoothly, my energy levels have suddenly gone whoosh and I've noticed it's made my hair and skin really shine," she adds. "And I feel much lighter when I'm walking around."

Silverstone, who recently completed work on Kenneth Branagh's movie version of Shakespeare's Love's Labours Lost, also says she now has a vegan boyfriend ? musician Chris Jarecki. "I've gone out with some jerks in the past but he treats me really well and we have a wonderful time together."
