What under the costume is just as chic

Killer Frost

We had to wait a while to Caitlin in full Killer Frost gear, but it was well worth it for this sleek and sexy costume. Head to toe leather sure keeps out the cold, doesn't it?

Danielle Panabaker

Actually, Danielle Panabaker's tough, rocker-inspired look and attitude suggests she can serve up ice cold shade in real life too.

3 of 50 Katie Yu/The CW

Black Siren

When Laurel picked up the Black Canary mantle from her sister, we were whether the costume would remind us too much of Sara and not enough of Laurel's new spot on the team. Those fears were unfounded since she made this disguise all her own.

4 of 50 Gilbert Carrasquillo/FilmMagic

Katie Cassidy

She's adventurous and fearless on the red carpet too.

5 of 50 Cate Cameron/The CW

Felicity Smoak

Felicity Smoak needs no mask or hood to get her job done, since she's safely behind the scenes of her computer in the Arrow Cave. Still, Felicity has a signature look with her adorkable glasses and stylish mini dresses that win her a spot on this list - and we wouldn't exactly say no to full on suiting up if the occasion called for it.

6 of 50 Taylor Hill/FilmMagic

Emily Bett Rickards

Sartorially, the CW star straddles the line between put-together and comfort, suggesting she's got a sensible approach to style.

7 of 50 Diyah Pera/The CW

Hawkgirl

She flew off into the sunset in the Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 finale, offering up one last view of her sensual and curvy leather jumpsuit, topped off with an alluring headpiece.

Ciara Renée

On Earth, Ciara goes for athletic wear and attitude that flaunt her toned physique.

9 of 50 The CW

White Canary

Down at Assassin Mart, you can find this one in the section marked DO NOT COME FOR ME.

10 of 50 Maarten de Boer/Getty Images

Caity Lotz

The California-bred dancer and model makes bold choices when she goes to her closet, reveling in designer rags with cool shapes and textures.

11 of 50 The CW

Captain Cold

Yeah, a plain parka counts as a costume, and while this nondescript ensemble is true to the comic books, Captain Cold really does look like any of the 700 people hailing a cab in Manhattan in winter.

Wentworth Miller

Thankfully, the Prison Break alum puts much more thought into his clothing, often cleaning up real nice in men's style magazines.

13 of 50 Netflix

Daredevil

Netflix's Daredevil costume has been roasted by fans for everything from its design, its color (deemed to familiar to The Flash) to the ways it wouldn't allow someone to do parkour in real life. Uh, nice helmet?

14 of 50 Michael Tullberg/Getty Images

Charlie Cox

Outside that suit, sergeant of the Facial Scruff Army Charlie Cox wears a warm, everyman look that's chill and welcoming.

15 of 50 Diyah Pera/The CW

Firestorm

Shout out to this will.i.am video look.

16 of 50 Robby Klein/Getty Images

Franz Drameh

Like many Brits, Franz puts thought into his swag and likes to make statements with different shapes, colors and patterns.

17 of 50 Katie Yu/The CW

Green Arrow

Arrow's costume designer Maya Mani did the redesign for this jade jumpsuit, taking care to give him tougher shoulders and free sleeves to stay truer to the source material. Let's just forget that mask of green goo ever happened.

18 of 50 Phillip Chin/Getty Images

Stephen Amell

Actor Stephen Amell maintains a rugged, outdoorsy-type dude appearance -- even in a suit.

19 of 50 Dean Buscher/The CW

Speedy

Oliver Queen's kid sister left an indelible mark in her red hood she wore to destroy her foes.

20 of 50 Taylor Hill/FilmMagic

Willa Holland

She's good at playing bad, and looking badass too.

21 of 50 Bettina Strauss/The CW

Guardian

James Olsen shines in all-silver on Supergirl -- a controversial choice for some fans -- but his headpiece and shield give him an intimidating exterior, even if he does look a little like Robocop.

22 of 50 Daniel Zuchnik/WireImage

Mechad Brooks

This man could literally wear a coat of dirty socks and still look great, don't @ us.

23 of 50 Netflix/Marvel

Iron Fist

Here's Iron Fist practicing fancy moves in what looks like Sunday brunch sweats, and his green and and yellow tracksuit on The Defenders is equally chill.

24 of 50 Bennett Raglin/WireImage

Finn Jones

The London native is a natty dresser and a veritable prince compared to Danny Rand.

25 of 50 The CW

Martian Manhunter

Now this is a costume: green skin, a rigid red suit and cheekbones a supermodel would die for.

26 of 50 Mike Marsland/WireImage

David Harewood

A fan of sharply cut suits, the Brit actor could be another contender for James Bond.

27 of 50 Myles Aronowitz/Netflix

Jessica Jones

A breakdown of Jessica's costume -- everyday street clothes that represent her denial of her own abilities -- could be the stuff of graduate school thesis material, but suffice it so say her armor conveys how tough and smart she is.

28 of 50 Michael Stewart/Getty Images

Krysten Ritter

The raven-haired actor certainly knows the importance of a standout look: she got her start as a print and runway model.

29 of 50 Bettina Strauss/The CW

Vixen

Bringing Vixen from animated to live action came with the huge challenge of not screwing up her costume, and The CW mostly got it right, putting Megalyn in a form-fitting (but not pervy!) black and white suit that's less obsessed with the actor's (amazing) body and ability to mimic any animal on Earth.

30 of 50 Amanda Edwards/WireImage

Megalyn Echikunwoke

Off screen, her secret power is slaying every scene and carpet with maximum glam.

31 of 50 Katie Yu/The CW

Kid Flash

In another win for CW's superhero costumes, Kid Flash's much anticipated garb complements The Flash's, invokes speed with lines and sharp cuts and gives Wally a singular touch: vibrant yellow.

32 of 50 Cindy Ord/Getty Images

Keiynan Lonsdale

Once a fan of everyday athleisure-type clothes that made him look like one of the wholesome, boy-next-door kids in a PacSun poster, Keiynan has been getting more adventurous and even androgynous as of late, experimenting with guyliner, colored hair and more. Cool!

33 of 50 Netflix/Marvel

Luke Cage

Luke's bullet-hole ridden hoodie carries loads of meaning -- the sweatshirts becoming, for many African-Americans, a wearable symbol of injustice after teenager Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida in 2012. Luke's is stylish too; it could totally pass for a Yeezy original.

34 of 50 Steve Zak Photography/FilmMagic

Mike Colter

Jealous of that suit? Don't deny the thirst; it's real.

35 of 50 Katie Yu/The CW

Spartan

Spartan's monochromatic black ensemble, made to protect John Diggle's identity, is continually evolving, having already undergone upgrades by Cisco to enhance visibility. Definitely wanna cross the street if you see a guy dressed like this pass on the sidewalk.

36 of 50 Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic

David Ramsey

Spartan's revolutionary-ready wear is the total opposite of the sharp, nice-guy suits the guy who plays him steps out in.

37 of 50 Cate Cameron/The CW

Heat Wave

Not a huge stretch, tbh, to see Dominic Purcell rocking Mick Rory's goggles and protective suit -- he looks like Dominic Purcell doing some messy yard work -- but the attire is true to the pyromaniac's story.

38 of 50 Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic

Dominic Purcell

When not fanning flames, The Prison Break and CW star likes to flex his enviable pecs, abs and other perfectly proportioned, protein-rich parts.

39 of 50 Dean Buscher/The CW

Supergirl

Designer Kiersten Ronning made sure that the CW's very modern Supergirl looked smart and strong in her updated costume, which dials down old-school T&A in favor of a muted, sophisticated uniform that helps her get her job done.

40 of 50 Daniel Zuchnik/WireImage

Melissa Benoist

Melissa's style is pretty breezy even when she's not flying, as it happens; she likes to wear feminine and flowy clothes, and it works.

41 of 50 Cate Cameron/The CW

The Atom

Hard to know who exactly could be inside the suit worn by The Atom, the billionaire vigilante who designed his crazy powerful (and, ok, kinda sexy) exosuit.

42 of 50 Benjo Arwas/Getty Images

Brandon Routh

Serial superhero Brandon Roth is super unassuming when not rocking armor or capes, preferring simple, classic apparel that draws attention to his supermodel face and physique.

43 of 50 Dean Buscher/The CW

The Flash

Wearing the ultimate speedster's distinctive maroon gear, Grant Gustin looks ready for anything in the costume designed by Colleen Atwood. It's super functional: it's stretchy, it unzips easily and it's in that eye-catching color so that it reflects light at the right angles.

44 of 50 Jerod Harris/WireImage

Grant Gustin

The Glee alum Grant Gustin favors a lazy Sunday look featuring comfy threads outside the Arrowverse.

45 of 50 Amazon Studios

The Tick

In Amazon's iteration of The Tick, the costume got an upgrade from its Fox days -- with the superhero rocking a more muscle-y shell in a richer shade of blue. Serafinowicz has said interviews like this one with Vice that the suit was a nightmare to wear, calling it suffocating...among other things that won't be printed here.

46 of 50 Paul Zimmerman/WireImage

Peter Serafinowicz

The English comedic actor is a chameleon, able to go from red carpet suited and booted to authentic hipster in seconds flat.

47 of 50 Katie Yu/The CW

Vibe

In his Vibe costume, a multi-colored leather number that looks like it could work for a rap star on tour, Valdes looks ready to manipulate time and space and look badass while doing it.

48 of 50 Jason Merritt/Getty Images

Carlos Valdes

In real life, the musical theater whiz and The Flash star keeps it casual with lo-key duds and an amazing mane of luscious hair.

49 of 50 The CW

Black Lightning

Outside of Black Lightning's suit, Cress Williams kinda resembles a grown-up Tyler the Creator.

50 of 50 Robby Klein/Getty Images

Cress Williams

When Black Lightning makes it to the screen in 2018, he'll be wearing a costume in black and blue -- with a high tech twist. Created by Laura Jean Shannon, who did costumes for The Jungle Book and Blade: Trinity, Black Lightning's suit will light up at night to reflect his energy levels. He'll glow in blue when full of vitality, and yellow when he's depleted, so viewers have a reminder that he's mortal and capable of being hurt.
