Viewers weigh on which shows have lost their mojo

Glee

"All it's about is over-the-top production. It used to just be about outcast kids who loved to sing. Why the need for all the special guests and huge production songs? And I don't like when media singles out one person (ahem, Lea [Michele]) on every cover and news story. I wish they would go back to the beginning and remember what the show used to be about." — VanessaFernandez

House

"House's descent into idiocy started when he fired all of his ducklings in the Season 3 finale. But the real shark jumping began when the writers decided to shove Huddy down our throats, even making every single character on the show 'ship them. I stopped watching in Season 5 (after House and Cuddy kissed), and now whenever I hear about the current soap opera crap going on in the show, I sigh in relief that I got out of that mess when I did. Death to Huddy!" — Cassandra Elise

Burn Notice

"Jesse totally messes with the dynamic on Burn Notice and annoys me to no end. I'm fairly indifferent to the show right now and it used to be a favorite." — Kiminva

Castle

"The first season was really fun. The second was fun, but some of the writing started to lag. This season seems to be very formulaic. It's like you can tell who the murderer is within the first 10 minutes. It's also starting to pull a Bones, with giving the main characters other main squeezes while the fans scream at the TV set wanting Kate and Rick to get together." — qweely

One Tree Hill

"I haven't been able to watch this show since they jumped ahead four years. It used to be witty and funny, but also dramatic. Now, everyone always looks so sad … and it's just so boring. The quality just isn't there anymore. Not to mention [there are] all these new characters I know nothing about." — Axtar

Two and a Half Men

"Two and a Half Men has jumped the shark pretty hard … All the characters are just caricatures of themselves, the writing isn't creative, and the jokes have all been done so many times before. I can't believe they upped Sheen for two more years at that salary. The show is losing steam." — pageian

Weeds

"The Botwins should really have ridden off into the sunset after Nancy burned her house down in Agrestic, but they continue to squeeze more and more ridiculous plotlines out of thin air. Nancy continues to be an impossible character to like as she learns absolutely nothing from any of her experiences. I mean, damn, get a job, Nancy!" — MarsellesCoe

Bones

"Bones jumped the shark with the Season 4 finale coma/dream episode. It could have come back from it last season if they had only given us some sort of payoff on the relationship, but Booth/Brennan seem to be at a permanent stalemate. We're now into Season 6 and they've waited too long. I'm bored and I no longer care." — ChristineOrlando

Desperate Housewives

"Desperate Housewives is just the same old rehashed story lines and situations. In bringing back Paul, the writers and producers are "desperately" trying to recapture what made the show so cool in the beginning. I thought doing the five-year time jump was a great idea, but they never really capitalized on it." — Housemdsuperfan

The Big Bang Theory

"I loved the show when it started. Season 2 was even better than the first. Season 3 started so well and then went downhill… rather fast. To say that Leonard and Penny have zero chemistry would be a lie because it's so much worse. Let it go, writers; don't try to bring them back together. Please." — s_mae

American Idol

"The 'talent' last season was abysmal, and Ellen's participation was just a joke — and not a funny one. I only hope they finally learned their lesson about trying to get 'diverse' talent that will appeal to everyone, and that this year they will get the 12 best singers possible. However, I think this season's judging choices will stink just as badly as Ellen did." — kittybiddy

How I Met Your Mother

"HIMYM jumped the shark this season casting the untalented Jennifer Morrison to play the boring Zoey. The arc needs to end as soon as possible." — kokoon

The Mentalist

"Jane used to be fun with a twinkle in his eye. Now he's just patronizing and belligerent. It changed last season when Red John killed the FBI agent just because he was bored and wanted Jane to get back on his case. The "jump the shark" episode was last season when Jane convinced an entire lab that they were all dying just to get the real killer to step forward. That wasn't clever. It was cruel. This used to be one of my favorite shows and I can't watch it anymore." — MaryHeitert

Law & Order: SVU

"Law & Order: SVU jumped the shark a couple of seasons ago when the lab tech kidnapped Elliot, when the judge recognized the defendant as his long lost son, etc. The plots just started going haywire." — randaldean

Life Unexpected

"Life Unexpected jumped the shark when they introduced the student-teacher romance. It's absolutely making me sick to my stomach. My 25-yr-old son is a high school teacher. What kind of example is this show setting for his students?" — mamafoxof3

Criminal Minds

"I think Criminal Minds floundered when it cut J.J. and Prentiss. It cut me loose as a viewer." — kiminva
