We love the unique neckline on Nicole Kidman's Lanvin gown. The embellished strap that you see at the neck loops around one shoulder, leaving her back bare to the waist. It's classy and sexy all at once.

Paris Hilton's hair seems too casual for this gown, yet her jewelry seems too staid and heavy for it. The clunky putty colored platforms are just a no.

In a fashion turnaround, Tara Reid makes a fresh-faced and classy appearance in this dove grey beaded gown. Going against the fashion tide, she wears subtle diamond studs instead of the large dangling earrings that appear to be in favor these days.

The combination of the wide sheer panels and oddly squared-off, deep-V neckline make Kylie Minogue's gown seem a bit tawdry.

Though we'd like to see a better fit through the bust, we love a long, white gown on Eva Longoria. The sheer panels (which create the diamond and vertical line shapes) are an unusual design element.

Naomi Watts' dropped-waist gown and hairstyle have a lovely '20s feel. But this peachy-nude is not the best for her skin tone and the heavy choker belongs to a a different outfit.

We like Marion Cotillard's Grecian-style peach Dior, but the styling is what really makes this stand out. The gold metal belt and yellow shoes are creative accessory choices.

In a nod to the event (the "Heal the Bays: Bring Back the Beach" fundraiser) Julia Louis-Dreyfus wears a a summer sheath dress in oceanic blues. The colors are gorgeous but we would ditch the belt and the super-matchy shoes.

The lace on Kristen Stewart's Marchesa gown lends her a rather hirsute appearance. Not really a look that most gals strive for.

Lea Michele often dresses too old or tries too hard to be sexy. But this beaded Jenni Kaye dress hits exactly the right notes — young, cute, fresh — and we love the silver sandals.

Here we have a bustier top, worn over a ruffled tank, with a hi-lo skirt that matches neither. If that's not enough for you, we've also got some footwear that looks like platform sneakers and garish lipstick. Heather Morris looks like she's on her way to clown school.

Scarlett Johansson is working a sort of '40s pin-up look here, with the red peep-toes and sideswept rolled bangs. The mismatched prints lends a modern touch and keeps the whole look from becoming too literal.

Chelsea Handler had some good ideas here, and then it just sort of ran off the rails. The basic black halter dress is a great shape for her, and her hair looks the best we've ever seen it. But the too-casual belt? The baggy, ankle-high engineer boots? It's all in the details, people!

Khloe Kardashian wears a simple black wrap dress — but small details like a buckle at the waist and the asymmetrical hem provide interest. She does go all Kardashian on us with the crazy shoes, but it works here due to the fact that the rest of her look is low-key.

Leaving the hair out of it for now, we approve wholeheartedly of Kelly Osbourne's very figure-flattering dress as well as the totally on-trend hot pink shoes and lipstick.

Elizabeth Hurley doesn't look bad but couldn't she look better? This one-shouldered heavily-beaded nude gown seems a) the same sort of thing she always wears and b) a year or two past it's style heyday.

Given Cynthia Nixon's Sex and the City pedigree, we're a little disappointed by this attending-a-PTA-meeting-in-Nantucket look.

We like the slim cutouts on the side and the wrapped-style skirt on Elizabeth Banks' eggplant-colored dress. The platform pumps work here, too. It does feel a bit more appropriate for fall/winter but we're giving it a pass.

Mischa Barton's had some hard fashion times in years past, so we've been pleasantly surprised to see her looking so well as of late. We love all that gorgeous ivory fortuny pleating and the way the straps on the shoes echo the shape of the midsection of the dress. Red nails and lipstick are classic with a look like this.
