Life imitates art, then art turns around and gives us some great quotes to live by.
1. “Try not. Do – or do not. There is no try.”
In The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda relays some good advice that applies to...pretty much every moment in everybody's life. But then, isn't everything Yoda says good advice?
2. “It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage.”
Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark was full of gems, but this is one to take on any adventure.
3. “Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous.”
President Snow from The Hunger Games is a bad man, but he understand the power of hope.
4. “It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”
Batman doesn't say much in The Dark Knight, but when he does, it's profound. Take this ninja wisdom to heart.
5. “Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin'.’”
First said by Red in The Shawshank Redemption, this quote is so important it was reiterated later in the movie by Andy Dufresne. Thing to remember: it's now or never.
6. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.”
This quote care from the beginning of Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the '80s equivalent of YOLO.
7. “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.”
Keep this quote from Michael Corleone in The Godfather: Part II in mind at networking events. Especially if not all of your business is on the up and up.
8. “As I enter the school for the first time, I will visualize what it would be like on the last day of my senior year.”
OK, so Charlie is referring to his first day of high school in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. But this logic applies for the first day of college as well. Always look forward!
9. “That’s my secret, Captain: I’m always angry.”
Never be ashamed of who you really are. Be like Bruce Banner in The Avengers and channel that energy! Perhaps check yourself before you go all Hulk with it, though.
10. “We’ve all got both light and darkness inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.”
Harry Potter dealt with some serious situations. These words from Sirius Black in Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban motivated Harry, so they will surely motivate you.
11. “Fish are friends, not food.”
This one is strictly for vegetarians, vegans, people who just plain hate eating fish, and Bruce from Finding Nemo.
12. “I always tell the girls, never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously you never get hurt. If you never get hurt, you always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends.”
If you get any of these quotes tattooed on your body (yes, they are that good) make it this one. Penny Lane from Almost Famous would definitely approve.

14. “The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s lake.”
Sebastian from The Little Mermaid knew the whole "grass is always greener on the other side," quote was played out.
15. “No journey is too great when one finds what he seeks.”
Leave it to Coming to America's Prince Akeem to deliver such deep motivation.
16. “Because a man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”
And, just like that, Don Corleone reminds you in The Godfather that it's probably time to give your mother a call. Or else.
17. “All you can do in life is try to solve the problem in front of you.”
If you learned anything from math at all, it was this. Especially if Cady Heron's lessons on Mean Girls were all the math formulas you retained as a kid.
18. “There’s always someone younger and hungrier coming down the stairs after you.”
Cristal Connors from Showgirls can tell you: if you want it, go for it. Or someone else will.
19. “Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.”
Benjamin from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button can tell you: a ton of new crazy events and big chances are headed your way. Take risks and reap the rewards.

Cher from Clueless offered this gal-pal advice to her girl Dionne and it goes for the rest of us, too. Never let looking cool overrule your need to be healthy.
