Is Descendants the Next High School Musical?

In 2006, High School Musical pulled in 7.7 million viewers for its premiere. The soundtrack sold more than 4 million copies, making it one of the top TV-movie soundtracks since Nielsen began recording these stats in 1991. So will Descendants do the same? Maybe it already has. Accounting for the changing platform preference of consumers and taking both the WATCH Disney Channel app numbers and the television premiere numbers into account, Descendants skirts past High School Musical with 8 million pairs of eyeballs.

Kristin Chenoweth Brings Major Star Power

Kristin Chenoweth takes on the role of Maleficent, glowing eyes and all. Chenoweth is no novice on complicated TV characters, having previously played Pushing Daisies' Olive, Glee's April Rhodes and GCB's Carlene Cockburn.
