American Idol isn't just about finding a good voice (that's another show) but finding the full package to be a star: stage presence, performance and personality. This show is as much about liking the person as it is their singing, and what better way to know someone than learn about their childhood? Or find out what they sing in their lowest moments? Click through to find out which of the Top 10 had a toy vacuum cleaner, who can't resist pepperoni pizza and who loves "Call Me Maybe."

Lazaro Arbos, 21

Hometown: Naples, Fla. Most helpful Idol judge: I think the most criticism I got was from Keith, when I did his song, which was a hot mess. I did so bad! But I learned that just because you love a song, [it] doesn't mean you can sing it well. It wasn't that bad. I only had known the song for a month, so it wasn't that bad when you take into consideration all the things that went down before the show. Favorite childhood toy: I didn't grow up in America. They have a lot of good toys. I love to run, I love being outside. I loved going to the park, so I did a lot of outdoor stuff. I know that doesn't show now.

Janelle Arthur, 23

Hometown: Oliver Springs, Tenn. Guilty pleasure food: It's always chocolate. And you know what? I've had probably 10 cheeseburgers since I've been out here because I'm starving at the end of the day. And the burgers are really good out here in California. Favorite childhood toy: The baby dolls. I was a baby doll girl and I always wanted the baby doll that had the weight to it so it felt like a real baby and its head would fall back. I did get one of [the wetting ones] too. I'd change its diaper.

Curtis Finch, Jr., 25

Hometown: St. Louis, Mo. Favorite childhood toy: I always liked those firetrucks, and my mom hated it because I liked the ones with the buttons and the batteries and the noise. Song that makes him cry: Oh my God, probably "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston. Guilty pleasure song: Every time I go to karaoke I do "Superstitious" by Stevie Wonder because I feel like I can rock out and nobody will get mad at me because of that song.

Candice Glover, 23

Hometown: St. Helena Island, S.C. Song that makes her cry: "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. She's a phenomenal singer. And just the emotion in that song. It's talking about never giving up on your dreams, no matter what. Never sit it out. Never throw in the towel or give up. Anything you do, I hope you go for it, just dance. It's a metaphor, and every time I listen to it, every single time I cry. I'm a mess every time. Guilty pleasure song: My favorite song to sing is "Call Me Maybe." Hopefully I can do it on the show because I can do a really jazzy twist to it. No matter where I am, I'm singing that song. I get on people's nerves. Favorite childhood toy: I had a doll baby. It was girl, but she was bald. And for some reason, I never went anywhere without this doll baby. Her legs were hanging off at some point and I would still never let her go.

Kree Harrison, 22

Hometown: Nashville, Tenn. Song that makes her cry: I actually wrote a song to my mom. It's hard to sing, but people seem to love it. Every word is straight from the heart. Hopefully you'll hear it. It's called "You Would Have Wanted It That Way." I don't sing it much live because it's so personal, but that's the one. Favorite childhood toy: I had a pink Camaro that I drove in the house and I ran into everybody's shins with. I'm sure they hated that. The toy that got away: The Easy Bake Oven. I never got it. I need counseling because of that. Favorite desserts: For pies, it's really bizarre, but I love lemon meringue pie. But as far as anything else, I love peanut butter and chocolate. That combo in anything.

Amber Holcomb, 18

Hometown: Houston, Texas Favorite childhood toy: I forgot what it was called, but it was a little loopy thing you put on your foot and you jump. I could never get it, but I would try so hard. And for some reason I like chalk. I loved to write on the sidewalk and watch the rain wash it away. And bubbles! Favorite song to sing: "My Funny Valentine." I love that song. I will sing it whenever, wherever. It's always stuck in my head.

Paul Jolley, 23

Hometown: Palmersville, Tenn. Favorite childhood toy: A pitchfork and a shovel because we always had to be moving plants around on the farm. Is that crazy? I didn't have any toys. I had a horse. That was nice. A lot of people would love that, but I don't know if they'd love the chores that come with it. Song that makes him cry: "Tonight When I Cry" by Keith Urban. It puts you in that mindset. It's my song. Guilty pleasure food: Pizza with pepperoni. Only pepperoni. I don't want that other stuff. That's too healthy.

Angie Miller, 19

Hometown: Beverly, Mass. Surprising artist on her iPod: My brother is in a hardcore band called Exiting the Fall. Screaming and all hardcore, they're amazing. I love my brother and everything he's doing. Favorite childhood toy: I was a Barbie queen. I loved Barbies. I had the February gemstone Barbie. I had the whole hotel, her jet. I loved it. How many original songs she has written: Honestly not many, but the few that I have I'm really proud of.

Burnell Taylor, 19

Hometown: New Orleans, La. Favorite childhood toy: When I was younger, I got this vacuum cleaner for Christmas. And I loved it. I didn't go anywhere without it. I wish I could find one now because I would probably get me one. Favorite song: Whitney Houston's "I'm Your Baby Tonight." I love it. It took me a while to sing it, but once I liked it, I could not stop singing it. That's my always go-to song. I wake up in the morning singing it. I go to sleep singing it. Weight loss secret: After I did my audition, I sat myself down for a couple of weeks and thought, "I have to do something with myself. Let me work out." I always wanted to work out, but I'd never see the results and I'd stop. So this time was the first time ... when I started seeing the results, I was so overwhelmed because it was like, "I'm really losing weight!" Coming from a person who was 185 for their audition and now, 149, crazy. I was in a Large, and now I'm in a Small.

Devin Velez, 18

Hometown: Chicago, Ill. Song that makes you cry: "Living Proof" by Mary J. Blige. It's one of the most heartfelt songs ever. It's from the movie The Help, so just with that, it has a really great message. Favorite childhood toy: Man, I remember I had this microphone. It's so funny, I had this microphone that came with a cassette where you could record yourself. And that's how you know it was old because it was a cassette. I used to walk around singing into that like "La, la, la, la, la" and now I'm here. Forehead scar origins: It's a good-bad story. I got it when I was 4. I cut myself with a knife. I got 11 stitches on there. I was a very adventurous kid. Just leave it at that.
