Nominated for: Song of the year for "American Boy" with Estelle and best rap performance by a duo or group for "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne Sure, he loves to talk about how great he is, but the fact that he's consistently up for awards proves he may be on to something. Or he's just shamelessly arrogant. In either case, Mr. West didn't score much love among our readers, landing in last place.

Nominated for: Best female pop vocal performance for "I Kissed a Girl" Katy's girl-on-girl-inspired track was inescapable this year. We "liked it," but we'll wait to see if Katy has any real staying power.

Nominated for: Best rap album for Paper Trail and best rap performance by a duo or group for "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West T.I. has dabbled in acting and will serve jail time in March for possession of unregistered firearms, but he hasn't let that distract him from churning out hits. He can do whatever he likes!

Nominated for: Best pop collaboration with vocals for "4 Minutes" with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland and best dance recording for "Give It 2 Me." What's with Madonna and numbers this year? In any case, the Material Girl spawned yet another hit and sold out arenas around the country. Even so, Her Madgesty still landed toward the bottom of our poll.

Nominated for: Album of the year and best rap album for Tha Carter III, best rap solo performance for "A Milli," best rap performance by a duo or group for "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, T.I. and Kanye West and "Mr. Carter" with Jay-Z, and best rap/sung collaboration for "Got Money" with T-Pain Lil Wayne proved that artists can still sell albums, by moving more than a million copies of Tha Carter III in its first week on the shelves. His many nominations prove that Weezy's success was no fluke.

Nominated for: Record of the year and best female pop vocal performance for "Bleeding Love" and best pop vocal album for Spirit This British Pop Idol made believers of fans stateside as well with her powerful ballads. Guess Simon Cowell does know what he's doing after all.

Nominated for: Best rock album for Death Magnetic and best metal performance for "My Apocalypse" These metal icons have been lying low, but their latest release won all sorts of critical praise and, of course, Grammy nods. Based on your votes, there are still several of you who like to rock along.

Nominated for: Best female R&B vocal performance for "Superwoman" and best pop collaboration with vocals for "Lesson Learned" with John Mayer "No One" brings it every time like Alicia Keys, so it's no surprise that she's once again up for some gold.

Nominated for: Best new artist Sure, they appeal to the tween set and write ridiculously saccharine pop songs, but considering how their name seems to pop up everywhere, these boys are doing something right.

Nominated for: Record of the year and song of the year for "Chasing Pavements" and best new artist Newcomer Adele's soulful voice and heartbreaking tune made quite an impact, putting her right in the middle of the pack and besting some music-biz heavyweights.

Nominated for: Best male pop vocal performance for "Closer," best male R&B vocal performance and best R&B song for "Miss Independent" and best contemporary R&B album for Year of the Gentleman A gentleman, indeed. Ne-Yo's smooth style provides a nice break from the club-banging tunes of his fellow artists. (Not that he can't rock it when he needs to.) In either case, he's got a good chunk of our readers' support.

Nominated for: Best pop collaboration with vocals for "If I Never See Your Face Again" with Maroon 5 and best dance recording for "Disturbia" If you haven't heard one of Rihanna's songs this year, we'd love to know how you got this computer beneath the rock under which you've been living. But considering how well she placed in our poll, most of you don't fit in that category.

Nominated for: Best male R&B vocal performance for "Take You Down" and best pop collaboration with vocals for "No Air" with Jordin Sparks Chris Brown brings a young energy to his work that has won over fans for the past few years. And teaming with the winner of America's most popular TV show is never a bad way to gain a little extra exposure.

Nominated for: Best female R&B vocal performance and best R&B song for "Spotlight" and best R&B album for her self-titled debut Despite a family tragedy, Hudson had a strong year, releasing her debut record and proving she's here to stay. Her will to overcome adversity is matched only by her talent.

Nominated for: Best male pop vocal performance for "Say," best pop collaboration with vocals for "Lesson Learned" with Alicia Keys, and best solo rock vocal performance for "Gravity" Apparently John Mayer still makes music when not being featured in the tabloids with gal pal Jennifer Aniston. And as long as he keeps cranking out tunes, it seems he will keep getting nominated for golden phonographs.

Nominated for: Best female R&B vocal performance for "Me Myself and I" What can we say that hasn't already been said about this diva? Perhaps the only question is this: Whose mantel will the award sit on should she win: B's or Sasha Fierce's?

Nominated for: Record of the year, song of the year, best pop performance by A duo or group with vocals for "Viva La Vida" and best rock album and album of the year for Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends This band is nominated for so many awards this year, you could make a drinking game based on their categories alone.
