Spark! Episodes

Contemporary artists resurrect classic performance works. Included: choreographer Mark Morris's interpretation of “Sylvia” (a 19th century Parisian masterpiece) at the San Francisco Ballet; director Carey Perloff's production of the Samuel Beckett play “Waiting for Godot” at the American Conservatory Theater; and a pyrotechnic version of Henry Purcell's “Dido and Aeneas” staged by the San Francisco Opera and the Crucible, Oakland's Industrial Arts Center.
