In the conclusion of the two-part pilot, Alex---hoping to meet the governor and discuss her pardon---attends a ball with Whitney. But the only contact she makes is with a banker who winds up dead. Later, she obtains documents that could help the firm's wrongful-termination case; visits her former cell mate; and receives some of her missing daughter's possessions. Whitney: Richard Thomas.
