“Larry,” a true-life drama about a man who was mistakenly confined to a mental institution for his first 26 years. Thought to be mentally disabled, Larry (Frederic Forrest) is found to have normal intelligence. The hospital staff then faces the task of teaching him physical self-sufficiency and confronts the issue of whether such an innocent person can be prepared for life in the outside world. Premise: An impressive array of stars turned up on this popular anthology series, which presented a variety of genres over its eight-year run, including romances, comedies, adventures, dramas and even Westerns. At the start of the 1954-55 season, Ronald Reagan joined the series as host and was an occasional performer. Stars included Jack Benny, Burgess Meredith, Joan Crawford, Alan Ladd, Jimmy Stewart, Charles Bronson and Bette Davis.
