Episode Detail: Patagonia Tuxedo Junction - The Living Edens
A vist to Patagonia follows wildlife species that survive in this windswept and isolated “realm of extremes” at the tip of South America. Included: Andean condors with 10-ft. wingspans; braying “jackass” penguins that reunite on the shoreline with their lifelong mates; a family of flightless rhea, whose “mother hen“ is a male that incubates, hatches and raises the chicks; and a newborn guanaco that can easily outrun a human within its first hour of life. Other creatures seen: elephant seals, sea lions and a hairy armadillo.
