Mystery! on PBS

“Dead Gorgeous,” is a dark comedy set in 1946 London that follows two wartime girlfriends (Helen McCrory, Fay Ripley) with that “ghastly husband” problem. Divorce is not an option, so saucy Antonia Ashton (McCrory) proposes a variation on Alfred Hitchcock's “Murder on a Train” solution to stolid Rose Bell (Ripley), but before Rose has a chance to agree or disagree to the deal, her cad of a husband (Jonny Phillips) is a cadaver. Complications ensue---not the least of which is that Rose finds herself genuinely attracted to Antonia's rich husband, Hector (Ron Cook). Vic: Lloyd Owen. Based on Peter Lovesey's novel “On the Edge.”
